Honda City in Hybrid variant for Indian market
Honda city is the most lovable, reliable and appreciable sedan car in India. Recently, the car of Maruti Suzuki launched it’s Mid-range Hybrid sedan “Ciaz” which completely snatch the market from Honda city. But the company has decided to roll back or gain its market in India. So, they are going to launch the Hybrid Honda City in India. The company has recently launched its High power Sedan Honda Accord in Hybrid variant and now it’s the time of City.
Honda India has not revealed anything yet about the City. According to sources, the company has already started the work on Hybrid City for the Indian market. The important thing is that company is trying to make it fully hybrid. The company has already sold its hybrid units in Japan under different badge but its time for India because Indian government is supporting the Hybrid initiative as well.
Honda City design:
It is informed that the design of the new city will be same but there will be some minute changes. It will come with the Facelift version as well. There will be different alloy wheels which will enhance the sporty looks of the car.
From the Interior there will be some changes like;
- It will come with the feature like CVT & Keyless entry.
- There will be the Power Button through which car will Start and Stop.
- It will get advanced Touch screen infotainment.
Honda City specifications & Mileage:
The all new city will be geared with;
- It will be powered by 1.5 – litre ( 1490cc ) Petrol engine and it will also power the hybrid section.
- The engine has been tweaked for the better efficiency.
- The new City will produce the power of 100 bhp,
- It will churn the Torque up to 150 Nm.
- The Hybrid engine will produce only 40 bhp.
The all new Hybrid City will give the superb Mileage of 30km/l (As per the ARAI cycle) which is really a very good mileage. On road, it will reach to 18-20km/l but on a highway, it will give 22-24km/l.
If a Petrol car can give this kind of superb mileage then who need a Diesel engine. So,there is no doubt that in future Diesel vehicles will be replaced the Superb hybrid engines.
Honda City safety equipment & launch date:
The all new city will be equipped with the safety gears like:- Dual Airbags, ABS (Automatic Braking System) & leather seats as well.
The launch date of the hybrid city is not confirmed but it is expected that it will hit the Indian market in the Mid of 2017.
