Saif Ali Khan’s poor run at box office continues as he is again blamed for his film Kalakaandi failure and the film is termed as a ‘huge disaster’ by Box Office India. Despite having many big names it the film has not even managed to cross 5cr in its first three days. Here is its Box Office report by Taran Adarsh. “#Kaalakaandi Fri 1.25 cr, Sat 1.20 cr, Sun 1.40 cr. Total: ₹ 3.85 cr. India biz.”

Kalakaandi Failure

Kalakaandi Failure

Before proceeding to know the reason behind its failure let’s take a look at what this film is all about. Kalakaandi is basically a dark comedy film directed by Delhi Belly fame director Akshat Verma. Three parallel stories run together in the film but everything revolves around Saif who was living quite a humble life until he came to know that he is suffering from stomach cancer and then he decides to utilize his remaining days in best possible manner.

Despite getting some really good reviews from many critics the movie failed to attract the audience and one of the biggest reason for this failure is the storyline of this movie. As dark comedy is one of those genres that has not been popular among Indian audience. It seems that people are not interested in this off-beat kind of stories and they still crave for the typical romantic or action films.

Kalakaandi Failure

Another big reason for the failure of this film is Saif himself, we all know that he is going through a rough phase in his career after giving back to back many flop films he chose this kind of film to make a come-back? Not a great decision in my opinion. Saif really needs to choose his film more carefully.

Last but not the least reason that I think could be the reason behind the failure of Kalakaandi is over-expectation of the audience. It seems like people expected another Delhi-Belly kind of film from the director Akshat Verma but the film failed to stand on their expectations.

So, guys, these are the reasons that we thought are responsible for Kalakaandi failure. What’s your take on this? Share your views with us and if you liked this post please share it your friends and don’t forget to like and follow us on Facebook and Twitter.
