The Mummy Review:

Despite a humble opening the first installment of this rebooted ‘Mummy’ series has been heavily criticized. Even the inclusion of Tom Cruise couldn’t change the fortunes of this falling franchise.

Sofia Boutella plays the titular role of The Mummy an ancient queen whose was separated from her destiny and now she wants to take over the world. The movie starts with Ahmanet’s history and we get to know why she was buried. But what is undigestible here is why this Mummy makes a pact with a devil who is equally brutal as she is. This devil agrees to give her powers when she promises to find a man-husk to inhabit for him.

The Mummy

Ahmanet spends the whole time in chasing after Nick, it is so funny to know how a dreadful Mummy requires a man to complete her powers. This makes the plot of this movie very weak. The VFX scenes do not add any dread to it. The secret castle designed to capture and offset wicked is very ill-equipped to deal with them.

However, there are few scenes like when Tom is pinned down by a swarm of rats and also the mummy splitting her eyes into two that will help you to survive. There are very chances of Tom to return in upcoming movies of this franchise but for now, The Mummy has failed to live up to the expectations of the critics and fans.
