Have you seen any driverless car? You will say “Yes of course” in many Hollywood and some of in the Bollywood movies right. But I am talking about a real driverless car. Yes, I am saying right because Ford is already doing lots of test on the driverless car. you will be glad to know that the name of the car is ” Ford Lidar”. Everyone know that Ford is one of the oldest and reputed Automaker brand in the world. Everybody – critics, as well as people, love Ford cars very much. Now the Ford is not only focusing on making good and superb cars but they are also looking forward to the future plans. Definitely, in the future there will be only automated cars, “Future begins with today” and Ford is making a driverless car and Ford Lidar is that car.
Mark Fields, Ford president and CEO said, “The next decade will be defined by automation of the automobile, and we see autonomous vehicles (Ford Lidar) as having as significant an impact on society as Ford’s moving assembly line did 100 years ago,”
“We’re dedicated to putting on the road an autonomous vehicle that can improve safety and solve social and environmental challenges for millions of people – not just those who can afford luxury vehicles.”
“Ford has been developing and testing autonomous vehicles for more than 10 years,” said Raj Nair, Ford executive vice president, Global Product Development, and chief technical officer. “We have a strategic advantage because of our ability to combine the software and sensing technology with the sophisticated engineering necessary to manufacture high-quality vehicles. That is what it takes to make autonomous vehicles (Ford Lidar) a reality for millions of people around the world.”
“We’ve not been able to do that with cameras and radar,” Mr. Nair said of Autopilot. “Not to the safety level we would be comfortable for introducing Ford Lidar into production.”
Ford Lidar will officially launch in the market in 2021
