Raees Story

The story of this movie is set in Gujrat 1980’s where a Man Raees Alam builds alcohol mafia, soon the man becomes popular among the local people by winning their trust. He eliminates whoever comes in his way. But things get changed when Police officer Majumdar takes charge and his sole purpose is to eliminate crime and criminals.

Raees Review

After giving two back to back flops Finally Shahrukh Khan is back with the bang. Raees directed by Rahul Dholakia is about a man who comes into the business of smuggling at very young age. He may be a bad man for others but he possesses Robinhood like status among people. As he grows he makes some rivals too, he trusts wrong people and then fights them all alone.

This character Raees is full of swag he does romance, he fights like typical old Bollywood movies. Rahul has tried to show so many things together and has completed none of them. Stories and Characters are left uncompleted. Though the first half of the film is quite an entertainer, the action scenes remind us that old Shahrukh of Baazigar. Talking about Nawazuddin, he is the heart of this film. One can easily notice how easily he has stolen the show from Shahrukh. His witty one-liners bring some calmness in this gangster drama.

But as the movie proceeds, it gently loses its charm and becomes quite predictable. The narration of the story could have been much better but it seems like the writer has no clue to how to end it. Talking about other characters like Mahira Khan, she is only a decorative piece in this film.

Overall the movie has failed to stand on the expectation of fans. Nawazuddin was a treat to watch and has saved this film. Watch this movie only if you are a Shahrukh fan.
