Rustom Review:

RUSTOM is a nice attempt of Tinu Suresh to portray the infamous 1959 Nanavati Case of a handsome parsi Naval officer, his lovely but lonely wife, and the sensational murder.

Talking about the first half of the movie that shows how a naval officer murders his friend who was cheating on his wife, the movie quickly takes to the circumstances in which Rustom kills Vikram and the trial begins. Without wasting any time director very smartly comes direct to the point. Akshay once again has proven his class in acting and has shown how he can play diverse roles with sangfroid. moreover, the plot of the film is quite interesting.

However, it lacks that nail-biting thrill that one expects it form, which a murder mystery should have. The second half of the movie entirely dedicated to the court room drama. Cross-examination is teased into the script. Tinu Suresh Desai’s direction fails to maintain the momentum. There are so many clichéd dialogues,Inappropriate outfits and over the top acting that evokes laughter. It seems to unfold like a whodunnit and flunks in its execution.
Ileana looks good as a guilty wife but fails to make any impact. Esha Gupta (Preeti Makhija)as a socialite and Vikram’s sister is not a fleshed out character.
The supporting actors like Arjan Bajwa, Kumud Mishra, and pavan Malhotra had played their part very well.
The songs of the movie are well timed,TERE SANG YARA by Atif really touches the heart.
