Tata Nano- “Lakhtakhia Car” of the Indian market was launched in the year 2008. It had bumper openings at its launch but as time passed it lost its charm because of many accidents(From Manufacturing and Buyers)happened to the Car slashed it value from the market. The company also launched it’s the second variant in 2015 but Tata nano specifications didn’t make any impact on the Tata Customers.
These things made the company to stop the Manufacturing of Tata Nano in the Indian market and according to them BS VI components compliant are not going to be produced as of now, indicating that Tata maybe does not wish to continue production when BSVI norms kick in from 2020.
According to the Sales business, Tata Motors dispatched 180 units of Nanos to its 630 sales outlets this August (which was 711 units in August 2016). Surprisingly, the number came down to 124 units in September and further just to 57 units in October.
A Tata Motors spokesperson stated, ‘’We already have a well-defined passenger vehicle strategy in place that will look at not only the best way of addressing the segments’ requirements but an overall perspective of the portfolio. We continue to produce Nano catering to customer demand in key markets.”
We got to know from Business Standard that, “A dealer in Himachal Pradesh had some buyers and I made an internal dealer transfer of a few cars to him, made possible by the GST. I sold a few units at discounts ranging between Rs 10,000 and Rs 50,000. I am left with four-five units,” said a dealer from Punjab.
Tata nano specifications:
- It is propelled by 0.6-litre (624cc) 4V Petrol Engine.
- It delivers the Max power of 37.5 bhp @ 5,500+/-250rpm.
- It churns the Peak Torque around 51 Nm @ 4,000+/-500rpm.
- It takes 12.5- seconds in reaching from 0- 100km/h and has the Top speed of 105km/h.
- It has 5- speed gearbox with the Automatic gearbox in option.
- It delivers the Mileage of 22km/Litre on the highway while 17-18km/Litre in the city.

The company launched the Second variant of Tata Genx nano at price point of INR 2.26- lakh(Ex-showroom, New Delhi). It is available in Five different variants.
