1) Why are the Smartphone prices are lower than Others?

Facts about XiaomiIn April 2010 Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun announced that they will limit their profit margin at 5% permanently (after tax) and this applies to their entire product lineup.

What that means is, they will always provide you with best Specs with lower prices in future, unlike Oneplus who’s increasing their profit margin by every phone they release.

2) Domain Name

Facts about XiaomiMaybe you already know this one, but let me tell you. When ‘Mi’ was ‘Xiaomi’ they had difficulty selling their smartphones via their online store, as the name was not easy to pronounce or remember for the people in other countries.

So they decide to buy the Domain ‘mi.com‘, as it was easy to remember and cannot be pronounced in different tones.

But this domain name costs them around a whopping $3.6 Million ,and they purchased it right away, and now they hold a Guinness World Record in relation to ‘mi.com’…more on that later.

3) Name And Logo

The philosophy about it is that you have to start from the smallest position possible, and be the best in that, them Aim for big ones.

About the logo, when you turn it upside down, it translates to a Chinese word, that means ‘Heart’, which is cool.

And the easiest way to pronounce the company’s name is to say “shout me,” without the “t.”

4) Xiaomi is not only about Smartphones

Xiaomi holds a Record in Guinness Book of World Record for selling the most smartphone on a single platform within 24 Hours. That happened during a sale on mi.com, where they sold exactly 2,112,010 units.

The devices sold includes 770,000 smart appliances, 247,000 power strips, 208,000 Mi Band fitness trackers, and 38,000 smart TVs, generating over 2.08 billion yuan in revenue(~$420 million ~ 28,87,21,86,000Rs), in Just One Day. This is probably the Fact about Xiaomi you didn’t know.

6) 4th Most Valuable Tech Start-Up

Facts about XiaomiXiaomi became the 4th world’s most valuable technology start-up after it received US$1.1 billion funding from investors, making Xiaomi’s valuation more than US$46 billion.

7) Xiaomi Found Guilty for Spying

Facts about XiaomiIn 2014, Spyware was detected in two of Xiaomi devices, 1st the Xiaomi Redmi Note, and the other was Xiaomi Redmi 1S.

This situation was blown out by media, and an investigation was carried out by Taiwanese Commission. It turned out there was nothing dangerous, and all charges were dropped.

8) Ban in India

Facts about XiaomiOn 9th December 2014 Delhi High Court banned the sale and import of the Xiaomi Products in India, because of the Lawsuit filed by Ericsson.

on December 16th they were allowed selling smartphones running on Qualcomm Snapdragon Processors.

So now you know why Xiaomi doesn’t sell devices with MediaTek Processors…

9) Co-Founder of Apple was a Fan of Xiaomi

Steve Wozniak Co-Founder of Apple once Visited China and endorsed Xiaomi for a panel for media. Steve Wozniak gets paid for every endorsement, but for this one, he said that he did for free.

“I’m playing with mine. I like it so far. I’ll tell you if I have problems,” Woz said. “Xiaomi has excellent products. They’re good enough to break the American market.”
